Flora

There are 552 plant species growing within the park's territory, 5 of which are listed in the Red Data Book of the Republic of Kazakhstan: Black Alder (Alnus glutinosa), Spring Pheasant's Eye (Adonis vernalis), Eastern Pasqueflower (Pulsatilla patens), Feather Grass (Stipa pennata), and Drooping Tulip (Tulipa patens). The flora includes a significant number of valuable medicinal, ornamental, and edible plants. About 50 species are classified as medicinal, with 18 included in the state pharmacopoeia. There are approximately 40 ornamental species and about 30 edible species.

The park's vegetation consists of both steppe and forest communities. Shrub-fescue steppes are widespread in the intermountain valleys. As altitude and slope steepness increase, the vegetation becomes sparser. Forests do not have a continuous distribution. At an altitude of 800–1000 meters, sparse pine forests grow with admixtures of juniper and raspberry. Xerophytes and lichens predominate among herbaceous plants, while green mosses are found on northern slopes. In the lower belt (400–800 meters), pines are found on the middle and lower slopes of hills, sometimes in combination with birch and aspen. The undergrowth includes rose hips, serviceberry (juneberry), and cotoneaster, while the ground cover features cornflower, wintergreen, and other species. The forest belt of Bayanaul covers about 40% of the territory and is represented by Scots Pine, Alder, Birch, Aspen, and Willow. The primary forest-forming species is the Scots Pine (Pinus sylvestris), which occupies approximately 75% of the park's total forest area.
